Eric Bernstein, CEO of Berkshire Furniture, Dies At 55

Eric Bernstein, the CEO of his Berkshire Furniture and a Westfield resident, died on Thursday, July 25, at the age of 55, according to his obituary by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel.

Berkshire Furniture, based in Springfield, is a family business that has been passed down through four generations, Bernstein's obituary reads. Bernstein also served as president of the New Jersey/New York Furniture Association in 2017, according to his obituary.

Bernstein is being remembered as someone who was incredibly handy, being able to fix or improve anything with a set of tools, his obituary reads. He was praised for his ingenuity and perseverance in being able to turn a broken object into something functional, his obituary reads.

He is survived by his wife Mary-Eileen, his children, Megan, Jack and Kevin, his parents, Judith and Lawrence Bernstein, his sisters, Sheryl and Karen and numerous nieces and nephews, his obituary reads.

A funeral was held on Sunday, July 28 at Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel in Livingston and he was buried at Mount Lebanon Cemetery, according to his obituary.
